Professional Profile

Gary Cox is an independent psychologist specialising in career development and leadership coaching. Over the last ten years of private practice Gary has advised on career management programs and provided career assessment, counselling and executive coaching services to a variety of private and public sector organisations.

Gary is also currently engaged as a consultant by two of Australia's largest and most respected training and consulting organisations:

• The Australian Institute of Management (AIM) - Gary has played a central role in the development of AIM Centre for Career Management. At the AIM he provides individual career planning and development coaching to executives, managers and professionals
  
• DBM - as a career consultant Gary provides outplacement and career development services for corporate clients.

Gary has also previously been employed with Ernst and Young - HR Consulting. As a career consultant Gary provided outplacement and career development advice and services for executives. Major engagements were Suncorp-Metway, Telstra, Energex and FIA Insurance.

Gary's previous work experience has spanned individual and organisational psychology and mainstream human resource management. Initially, he trained then worked as a generalist personnel officer. This included recruitment and selection, staff counselling and training. Later as a manager in the tertiary education sector he was responsible for student counselling, staff training and development and grievance resolution.
